Dr. Showalter grew up in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. He attended Goshen College (IN) and Vanderbilt Medical School, graduating in 1996. He completed his urology residency training in Dallas, TX at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.
Dr. Showalter practices general Urology with specialized training in laparoscopic and Da Vinci Robotic Surgeries. Since coming to Murfreesboro in 2002, Dr. Showalter has pioneered laparoscopic urological surgery in Rutherford County, performing the first laparoscopic nephrectomy, partial nephrectomy, and the first laparoscopic adrenalectomy. He also performed the first percutaneous ablation of a renal mass. He is a Board Certified Urologist and is a member of the American Urological Association, the Endourology Society, the Christian Medical and Dental Association, and the Tennessee Medical Association.
He has lived in Murfreesboro for six years with his wife and four children. He enjoys running, playing the trumpet, and spending time with his family.
